Install and initialize LXD on Ubuntu.
Installing LXD
Install via Snap (Recommended)
# Install LXD
sudo snap install lxd
# Add your user to the lxd group
sudo usermod -aG lxd $USER
newgrp lxd
# Initialize LXD
lxd init
Initialization Options
The lxd init wizard will ask:
- Clustering - No for single-node, Yes for HA
- Storage backend - ZFS, BTRFS, or dir
- Storage pool size - Default or specify size
- Network - Create managed bridge (lxdbr0)
- Remote access - For remote management
Quick Start (Non-Interactive)
lxd init --auto
